Junior Communication Specialist

(Social Media)

The overall purpose of the post

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements the Innovation and Training Park (ITP) Prizren, on behalf of the German Government and co-financed by the Kosovo Government.


The Innovation and Training Park (ITP) Prizren is the most unique location in the region, that fosters collaboration in a vibrant community, aiming to become the regional hub for entrepreneurship innovation, business and skills development, and a source of innovative and successful ideas. ITP Prizren establishes cooperative linkages among different stakeholders at the park, offering an environment that fosters synergies between the Private sector (companies, enterprises and start-ups); Public sector (public institutions, entities and agencies); Civil Society Organizations (NGOs and other non-profit entities), and Academia (Public & Private Universities, other research & education institutions, Vocational Education and Training Providers).

The Junior Communication Specialist will coordinate with the communication specialist in the project and the GIZ office in Pristina, to implement communication actions and engage with the stakeholders, tenants and other parties of relevance.

Main tasks and responsibilities

The junior communication specialist performs the following tasks:

  • develops and implement social media strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives,
  • creates engaging content for all the social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram),
  • monitors and analyses social media trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and staying up to date,
  • collaborates with internal teams to gather information and insights on employment initiatives, regional partnerships, and innovative projects to be highlighted on social media platforms,
  • engages with the ITP community, tenants, stakeholders, and influencers to foster collaborations, partnerships, and networking opportunities,
  • monitors social media channels and responds to inquiries, messages,
  • supports the communication team with the strategic direction of social media work,
  • ensures effective communication and flow of information within the project team,
  • develops and assures quality control of all social media posts,
  • performs other duties at the request of the Team Leader.

The above functions are indicative and may be modified according to the needs of the projects.

Required qualifications, competencies, and experience

Qualifications

  • University degree in communication/PR, social sciences, ICT or other field relevant to the position.

Professional experience

  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in digital media,
  • Several years of relevant expertise in creating, simplifying and editing different texts and publication formats.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Strong communication skills, excellent written expression, high commitment, and independent way of working
  • Creative person with an innovative mindset
  • Great knowledge of trends on main social media channels
  • Pragmatic approach to problem-solving and willing to take the initiative
  • Very good knowledge of English.

Location:                    GIZ ITP Office in Prizren with frequent travel to Pristina (1-2 days per week)

Expected start date:             August 2023
